The Compendium of National Indicators for the Prevention and Combatting of Violence Against Women and Domestic Violence has been presented.

On October 3, the Compendium of National Indicators for the Prevention and Combatting of Violence Against Women and Domestic Violence, developed with the support of UNFPA Moldova, the Council of Europe, and UNDP, was presented. This marks the first step in the process of developing a national system for data collection and analysis, aligned with international standards and GREVIO recommendations.

The Compendium serves as an essential tool supporting the National Agency for the Prevention and Combatting of Violence Against Women and Domestic Violence (ANPCV) in data collection and analysis, contributing to a better understanding and more effective response to this issue.

During the validation workshop, experts presented and discussed recommendations from relevant institutions with the participants to improve the proposed indicators and data collection methods essential for preventing and combatting violence.

The national data collection and analysis system on gender-based violence will be developed for the first time in Moldova, with the role of centralizing relevant information, analyzing trends, and evaluating the effectiveness of implemented measures.

In Moldova, this national data collection and analysis system will enable the identification of high-risk areas and common types of abuse, the development of preventive policies and programs tailored to community needs, the training of professionals in health, justice, and social assistance for effective case handling, progress monitoring, and increased transparency.

UNFPA Moldova will continue to support ANPCV in fulfilling its coordinating mandate and enhancing its capacity to collect and analyze data to prevent and combat violence against women and domestic violence.
