Cash Assistance Programme for Refugees in Moldova

Cash Assistance Programme for Refugees in Moldova

Cash Assistance Programme for Refugees in Moldova

UNFPA, United Nations Population Fund contributes to the Emergency cash grant to support the refugees fleeing Ukraine and the families hosting them in Moldova.  UNFPA joined the collaborative effort led by the Government of the Republic of Moldova, supported by UNHCR and partner UN agencies, NGOs and other actors.

Every refugee is equally entitled to receive the monthly assistance of 2,200 MDL a month, and UNFPA’s additional top-up will prioritize pregnant and lactating women who have specific health and nutritional needs.

UNFPA's contribution to the Emergency grant programme will help ensure safety, dignity and resilience of women and girls from Ukraine.  This type of assistance can offer discretion and flexibility in meeting pregnant and lactating women's special health and nutritional needs, and can increase access to gender-based violence and other sexual and reproductive health services.
