The Planning of Local Youth Activities for 2020 Started

During 30-31 October, the civil servants in charge of developing and implementing youth policies within local public authorities were trained in planning and budgeting the activities on the basis of the results, so that the needs of the youth in the communities are met.

The national and local youth priorities, statistical tools for assessing youth needs, planning of youth activities, program budgeting, assessment of the budget planning – were among the topics addressed during the Workshop on the Planning of Local Youth Activities for 2020.

 ‘We very much rely on your support in identifying the real needs, challenges and interests of the youth, since this is the starting point for all the strategic actions, programs and projects that we are going to implement’, said Liliana Nicolaescu-Onofrei, Minister of Education, Culture and Research.

The education and professional development trainings aim to make the use of public resources more efficient and to facilitate the budget planning with a result-oriented approach.

 ‘We are sure that the involvement of all stakeholders, especially the youth, in the budgeting of youth activities, will be useful for the planning, implementation and monitoring of local youth activities’, said Rita Columbia, UNFPA Moldova Representative.

The event agenda included practical sessions focusing on the review of the existing planning framework and the support for the development of the draft Annual Result-Oriented Participatory Action Plan (in accordance with national and local papers), integrated with other sectors.

The event was organized with the support of the Joint Fund for the development of Youth Centers and strengthening participation and civic engagement among young people in the Republic of Moldova of the Ministry of Education, Culture and Research, the Swiss Agency for Development and Cooperation and the United Nations Population Fund.
