UNFPA Moldova, with support of the India-UN Development Partnership Fund, will organize the 2021 International Technical Advisory Board (ITAB).
The event will take place on the 30th of March 2021, between 14.00 - 17.30 (Chisinau time). The meeting will be held online via ZOOM, with English – Romanian – English simultaneous interpretation.
The ITAB meeting is aimed at:
- Informing the ITAB members and national counterparts on the inception experience available, current status and pathway towards building the multi-register-based information system for production of statistical data on population, migration Census-related and other social sectors. In particular, NBS will present the Concept and Terms of Reference of the informational system on population and migration statistics and
- Providing of feedback from the ITAB members who are expected to make recommendations given their international experience in this area and in alignment with UNECE and EU principles and practices on using administrative data for official statistics and Census, as well as raising the awareness of NBS and its national partners (holders of public registers and administrative data, e-governance and personal data protection authorities) on the importance and role of SDAs within the modern statistical process and national statistical systems, multi-lateral benefits and advantages for data providers (from different sectors) and data consumers (in particular NSIs) and the overall impact on the proper and timely informing of the society (either policy-makers, development partners, international community, or general public).
Participants: 20 participants, including up to 5 international experts on statistics, census, admin data and statistical population register; NBS management and technical staff, national counterparts (tentatively Electronic Governance Agency, Public Service Agency, Border Police, National Centre for Personal Data Protection, State Chancellery) and development partners engaged in the development and implementation of the informational system on ”Population and Migration Statistics”.
