Description of task

Under the direct supervision of the UNFPA Moldova Programme Analyst on Sexual & Reproductive Health and overall guidance of the Assistant Representative, the UN Volunteer will undertake the following tasks:

Review relevant documentation on the situation of women and adolescent girls with disabilities, in relation to their SRHR (including health policies, national legislation and regulatory frameworks, available analyses and Concluding Observations of the CRPD and CEDAW, UPR Reports), identify gaps & challenges; document the main findings & considering solutions for addressing the problems;

Support mapping of all organizations working at the national level with and for persons with disabilities, particularly those active in the area of Sexual and Reproductive Health and Rights of women and adolescent girls with disabilities;

Support the implementation of UNFPA Moldova country programme 2018-2022 awareness-raising interventions with focus on reproductive health and rights of women and girls with disabilities, including drafting key advocacy messages;

Contribute to development of the UNFPA Moldova Country Programme 2023-2027, especially contribute to integration of SRH needs and rights of peoples with disabilities into the SRH programme;

Suggest innovative ways of reaching out women and girls with different types of disabilities for raising their awareness on reproductive rights and existing services and increasing their social inclusion and self-confidence;

Provide support in assessing the capacity building needs of sexual and reproductive healthcare providers, with focus on SRHR of women and adolescent girls with disabilities, and suggest innovative effective ways of training of family doctors, medical assistants, as well as gynaecologists and midwifes on disability-inclusive sexual and reproductive healthcare;

Contribute to identifying areas for cooperation and collaboration between UNFPA, other UN Agencies & development partners, existing CSOs working at the national level with and for persons with disabilities, also private sector and provide inputs to joint initiatives and support development of strategic partnerships;

Support resource mobilisation efforts of the UNFPA Moldova Country Office, developing concept notes/project applications in the area of sexual and reproductive services and reproductive rights with focus on women and adolescent girls with disabilities; and providing inputs and feedback on joint applications on the Rights of Persons with Disabilities, developed and submitted on behalf of UN Country Team Moldova.
